Bible Classes
Bible Classes are offered, Sunday mornings 9:15-10:15 a.m./ Tuesday evenings 7:00-8:00 p.m. / Thursday mornings 9:00-10:00 a.m. / Bible Discovery Class- Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:00 p.m. Adults who wish to strengthen their faith and knowledge of the Bible will enjoy the learning, sharing discussions, and fellowship that’s a part of all our classes.

SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS

STRANGE IDEAS
Starts Sunday, September 12
2,000 years ago, when Paul shared the Word of God with the people of Athens, their response was: “You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears!” Have you noticed that people’s reaction to God’s Word and your Christian beliefs are a lot like that today?
Join us for a class that will help us: 1) Understand the many different world views that we and our kids are exposed to in our culture, 2) Analyze how they attack the Word of God and undermine faith, 3) Be equipped to persuasively defend and share God’s truth, even when our ideas seem strange.

ELIJAH & ELISHA: MEN OF GOD
Starts Tuesday, September 14
You live in a culture that is rapidly deteriorating, morally and spiritually. You feel like your faith puts you in a tiny and oppressed minority. Sound familiar? That was life during the times of the prophets Elijah and Elisha, 2,700 years ago. Our class will give us insights into the period of the divided kingdom in Old Testament history. Some of the stories will be familiar from Sunday School, and others you may never have heard of. We will all be able to relate to the challenges God’s believers are facing. We will all find comfort in how God showed his love and power to them by what he did for them. We will all find new purpose and confidence through what God did through them to show the world that he is the only Savior and that his Word is true.

ACCEPTANCE & ASSURANCE-A Study of the book of Ezekiel
Starts Thursday, September 16
Denial is not just a river in Egypt. It is how we too often live our lives. Do you struggle to accept the hard truth about yourself? Do you wrestle with accepting God’s will for your life when you don’t like your circumstances? Do you want things to be the way you want them to be- even if God’s Word says otherwise?
Acceptance of our sin, the circumstances of our lives, and the truth of God’s Word flows only from faith in a holy but also merciful God. We will see how God led his exiled people to repentance and faith, and worked in them the blessings of acceptance and ultimately assurance- just as he does for us!

BIBLE DISCOVERY CLASS

How long has it been since you reviewed those basic truths you learned back in youth Confirmation Class? Could you respond with more than a stunned look and a “Uh...” when someone asks you why you believe the Bible is God’s Word, or why you believe in divine creation and not evolution, why your church baptizes babies, or why Jesus was not just a rabbi but the Son of God?
Bible Discovery prepares us to answer those questions with confidence. It is also a great introduction to the Christian faith for your unchurched or unbelieving friends. So show up with a pen or pencil and a friend on September 29th!
