Ministries:

Education Board
This board coordinates our Christian education programs, encourages personal and group study of God’s Word and the use of Christian literature, and promotes Lutheran schools.  Our Education Board oversees our Library, and children’s education and outreach programs such as “Christmas For Kids”, Easter For Kids” and “Vacation Bible School”.  For a listing of classes, see “Classes” under  “Events And News”.

Elder Board
This board oversees the spiritual welfare of the congregation, church discipline, worship, fellowship, and the care of and work of the pastor.  Our Elders supervise all fellowship and service groups connected with worship, and also the Fellowship Committee, Altar Guild, Ushers, Greeters, Organist, Choir, Worship Committee, and the Stephen Fund, which is used to help people in times of financial crisis.

Deaconesses assist the elders in member visitation and contact, oversee charitable functions of the church, such as the Food Bank, provide meals for the home bound, new mothers, etc., coordinate refreshments for the fellowship time after our services, and organizing the child care provided during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

Evangelism Board
This board coordinates the outreach efforts of the congregation and encourages and trains members to share their faith and their Savior with others. Serving under the direction of the Evangelism Board is our Witness Team, a group of trained members who visit the people interested in our church to share with them what we believe.

Property/Maintenance Board
This board oversees all maintenance and care of, improvements to, and acquisitions of property and facilities.  Including a monthly maintenance walk through of the church.

Stewardship Board
This board encourages their fellow believers to gratefully use all that God has given them for God’s glory.  This board particularly oversees stewardship education programs, the recruitment and implementation of volunteers for service through the church, and coordination of programs or events supporting mission work.

Fellowship Committee
Outings, activities, or even just plain socializing with fellow Christians is an important part of the life of a congregation.  This committee plans ways to encourage and experience Christian fellowship.  Events include the annual Fall Open House and Pig Roast with carnival-style games for kids, Easter Brunch, New Member Dinners, Game Nights, Lugnuts Outings, and more.

Worship Committee
The goal of the Worship Committee is to enhance worship services through visual and audible means; i.e. season displays, special music, etc. It also discovers and/or develops new liturgical materials, utilizes the musical talents of members of the congregation, and creates a welcoming and inspirational atmosphere for members and visitors when entering our facility.

Cradle Role
This program is for newborns through 4 year olds and their parents.  Books and educational information is sent or put into the mailboxes of parents for encouragement in Christian parenting.

Christ Care
Are you a person who has dealt with challenging life situations and who has a heart for others who may be undergoing the same struggles?  If you would like to provide informal support for others as a caring Christian friend, the Christ Care ministry provides training for this important service and matches people up with individuals they can support.

Campus Ministry
For all MSU and LCC students.  Campus Ministry gives college students the opportunity to strengthen their Christian convictions, to grow in their ability to defend and witness to their faith, and to enjoy fellowship with other Christian college students in regular worship, Bible Studies, outings and service projects.

This ministry also serves international students and their families, providing English classes, Bible studies, children’s programs, and friendship to those from abroad studying at MSU.
